Gap professional are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client, who are looking for a Tendering Engineer Job Type: Permanent Location: Stoke-on-Trent Hours of work: Monday - Friday 40 hours Salary: £35,000 - £38,000pa Summary: Provide quotations for projects and services for our customer base promoting portfolio of products and services and 3rd party equipment if and when required. Tendering Engineer will be responsible for preparing competitive Technical and Commercial Proposals in compliance with the Client's requirement/technical specifications. Tendering Engineer will work closely with UK & International Sales Teams along with Project Management and Engineering Teams to formulate a winning bid strategy for all Business opportunities Key Responsibilities: Generate Proposals of the Products and Services of the Group Prepare technical proposal & cost estimation for tender projects Estimate project quantities and costs in the preparation of major tenders in a timely and cost effective basis Review estimate inputs from functional department and supervise the preparation of cost reports and price forms Monitors current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends Provide technical inputs where possible Assist the Senior Project Manager of Sales Manager on technical and/or costing matters during the process of securing the contracts Sales Management Update and maintain the customer database Ensure quotations are in line with client expectations and within the company's portfolio of products and of services Oversee the sales process from prospecting, RFQ through to final negotiation & PO and handover to project/contract management team Maintain a tendering pipeline process ensuring a methodical approach to finding and capitalising a flow of business opportunities required to achieve the company objectives Commercial Follow up Ensure each quotation is followed up in line with company procedure, listen carefully to customer feedback and maximise opportunity for turning into an offer and PO Manage the risk in respect T&C's, commercial and legal considerations. Ensure company procedure is adhered to Support payment of outstanding customer invoices & claims when necessary Follow up Activity To attend the technical meeting with clients during the tendering process Able to plan, prepare, coordinate and to consolidate all estimating activities Validates purchase orders against the proposed offering and transfers the proposal files to the assigned Project Manager Maintains folder with detailed documentation of the proposal pricing, internal commitments and any customer communication on the proposal network site Provides regular updates to Tendering Manager, Supervisor and Sales on proposal status Requirements: HNC/HND in electrical specialisation, or electrical engineer with experience of international sales / tendering during 3 years or in an equivalent position in the industry Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM Experience within O&G, Power, MMM, Nuclear Prepared to travel occasionally with odd over night stays Tendering experience in electrical engineering Knowledge of switch gear/electrical networks/transformers/drives/mechanical and electrical contracting Advantageous to have worked in the oil/gas industry Benefits: Bonus 25 days holiday Statutory Laptop / Phone allowance Pension Closing date is 4th April 2020 To Apply please follow the application process for the site this job is advertised on or email your CV to.
