Are you a Speech and Language Therapist looking to work within a AHP led Therapy Team, in a Trust rated 'Good’ in a recent CQC report? If you answered 'yes’ to the above and you would like to work within this team, we’d love to hear from you We have a number of long-term placement opportunities available from 1st March 2020 for at least 3 months available for Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist's at Berkshire Healthcare Trust in a number of locations specifically providing the following: Assessment and treatment of speech, language and communication difficulties and swallowing disorders on PPH mental health wards. Providing SLT support and absence cover for MH SLT colleagues at PPH. Developing the specialist speech and language therapy role within this service. Liaison with other agencies and services working with adults. Contributing to and participating in training on communication and swallowing disorders for other staff. Contributing to protocols to enable a seamless service provision across this service and in partnership with acute SLT and community SLT services. Undertaking teaching and supervision of speech and language therapists and other professionals within the specialist clinical area adult & older adult mental health services You will also be expected to deliver training- Dysphagia and Airway Obstruction in MH to all clinicians based at Prospect Park Hospital. The Speech and Language Therapy Department have an enviable reputation, great supportive team with a family feel. The post holder here will be pivotal in providing the best level of quality care to their patient’s needs. Skills/Responsibilities: To apply for this post, you will: be a Speech and Language Therapist familiar with providing specialist speech and language therapy assessments e.g. Dysphagia and communication to adult and older adult patients admitted to the inpatient mental health unit. either have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent Licence to Practice and you will be HCPC registered. either have an MSc or at least 2 years’ experience in co-working with expert practitioners and undertaking specialist formal training. have evidence of successful post-graduate study through CPD portfolio have Dysphagia competency have previous experience of relevant multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working and developing and delivering training packages. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions.
