POSITION: NDT Manager SALARY: Negotiable Depending on Experience BENEFITS: Company Pension,28 Days Holiday Plus Up To 5 Additional Holidays Based on Length Of Service, Pension Scheme. HOURS: Full Time, Mon-Fri office Hours LOCATION: Sheffield, S6 1ND DESCRIPTION: Our client is the UK’s leading forge master in the oil & gas industry and has recently acquired accreditations for the Nuclear and Aerospace industries. With over 30 years’ experience in forging, our client specialises in creating bespoke products using open die and ring rolling methods. The company currently has an opportunity for an NDT Manager or an experienced NDT Technician looking step into their first management role. You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the NDT function. The NDT department are responsible for carrying out NDT testing of Bars and Forgings to National, International and customer specifications and procedures, creating NDT certifications and reviewing specifications. JOB ROLE (not limited to): Effectively manage the NDT Department, ensuring they always represent the best interests of the company. To develop and support individuals within the team. Contract Review and Report Verification. Management Reporting and attendance at business meetings when required. Liaison with Customers, witnesses and auditors. Identify, develop and implement operational improvements. Work together with other departments to ensure company targets and objectives are met. Ensure all departmental work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality. To continually gain more knowledge and retain skills in relevant testing. Ensure work is carried out within Health & Safety and Quality Procedure protocols. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: - PCN level 2 minimum in Ultrasonics, willing to train to Level 3. PCN level 2 Dye Penetrant, PCN level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection. Spectrometer testing and PMI. Hardness Testing. Ability to understand and interpret specifications, procedures and acceptances. Understanding of Metals/Materials as used within the forging industry. Management or supervisory experience and/or training. Proficient IT skills, particularly, Word, Excel and Outlook. Extensive experience within an NDT environment. Knowledge and experience in Quality Systems and Procedures. Practical knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt when needed. Good interpersonal and communication skills, confident in NDT disciplines. Eye for detail and quality focused.
