Looking after 3 residents our client has a spacious house in Christchurch looking after 3 residents - 1 with downs syndrome and 2 disabled wheelchair users. You will be working with a full team offering support working for a UK national highly recognised company. Near centre of Christchurch easily accessable with public transport. Support workers are committed to enabling the people they support to live the lives they want; lives which are fulfilling, meaningful and happy. This could be day to day support including medicine, community help like shopping, activities like cinema or working alongside them in the communal areas. Other areas can involve cooking, assisting living which will include personal care and dealing with challenging behaviour and nonverbal communication. What is the job? A Learning Difficulties Support worker is essential to work every day to help all residents live a dignified and meaningful life. The job requires the highest of standards, bags of passion while always considering the resident’s choices, their views and respecting their independence. Hours could be a mix of shifts between 7am to 11pm and include straight long day shifts for the day role - contract will include one weekend on and one off. What we are looking for? For this role our client is now commencing a commitment to provide full training with opportunities to access NVQ training which can be supported to begin to progress your career as a Learning Difficulties Support Worker. Being a support worker can act as a springboard to many different opportunities in the future.
