Temporary Works Design Engineer Manchester Permanent Opportunity Salary Negotiable The Temporary Works Design Engineer will assist and undertake various aspects of temporary works design for either a single project or across a number of projects and tenders within the building & civil engineering divisions. The Temporary Works Design Engineer shall Assisting with all aspects of temporary works design for tender and construction phases for UK projects. Preparing safe and efficient temporary works designs required as part of construction requirements in accordance with all UK and EU Codes. Producing temporary works designs, calculations, associated drawings (using AutoCAD) and risk assessments to challenging deadlines. Calculations may include: Structural Steel & Concrete Design, Mobile Crane Working Platform Foundation Design, Hoarding Design, Formwork, Falsework & Scaffolding Design. (Using Masterseries & Tekla Tedds Analysis Software.) Assisting with checking, reviewing, approving and certifying temporary works designs by others / sub-contractors. Ensuring the design is managed in accordance with the relevant quality procedures. Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 requirements. Providing prompt advice and react to the requirements of numerous construction teams, during all site activities, safely and effectively dealing with changing design briefs / site conditions and activities. Assisting with supporting estimating teams to develop costs, programmes and construction sequencing. Providing necessary information to the Procurement Department to enable the procurement of materials and subcontractors. To work alongside other professionals in multi-disciplinary teams. Providing technical guidance where necessary to less experienced engineers including site team members. To attend site visits where required to inspect temporary works or to assist with resolution of buildability issues ascertained during construction works. Introducing improvements and innovations where appropriate. Working as part of a team, taking personal responsibility to deliver results with the ability to multi-task (prioritise, organise and schedule work) and to deal with change and react to changing site requirements. Technical Competencies Educational Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, working towards chartered status or just recently chartered.
