Overview

We are recruiting for electrically biased multi skilled maintenance engineer from a strong engineering background, to work in an automated distribution centre for a leading logistics company, working 8 hour shifts Based in Dordon. Inside the clean warehouse is a variety of MHE, consisting of conveyor systems, sorting machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. The right candidate must have a background especially with conveyor systems, hydraulics and pneumatics. Any experience within sortation machinery is a huge advantage. If any breakdown lasts longer than 15 minutes, the issue has to be reported to head office in the UK. So you need to be comfortable working under pressure. Being an electrically biased engineer, you will be expected to perform fault finding on electrical components, working with 3 phase and single phase motors, and familiar with fault finding, input/outputs with both Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC's. The position is working a mixture of days and nights on a 24/7 operational basis. O/T is available during peak periods such as Christmas, Black Friday, Summer etc. However never guaranteed. The site is coming upto around 10 years old therefore the machinery is becoming quite tired, meaning you will be on your feet under pressure at all times. The site over the past few years has gone through an extension and investment of new automated machinery to keep up with the online demand. The working hours will be 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am operating on a Monday-Friday basis. The organisation over the past 5 years have implemented 2 new state of the art distribution facilities and are only going to expand further. There is a duplicate site in Derby, with a potential to progress up into a more PLC focused position in the future, if this is something of interest to you. Any experience working on materials handling brands such as Vanderlande, Beumer, Sovex, Caljan, Amazon, Dematic or TGW is advantageous. The JOB: Salary of £39,000 Shift pattern consists of 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am. (8 hour shifts) The hub is based in Dordon YOU: Multi-skilled engineer with experience working in an automated environment with a 70/30 electrical-mechanical split ONC/HNC/BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent in Engineering Experience of automated materials handling equipment Ability to work in time critical environment Excellent communication skills and good work ethic.
