Interim Digital Database Specialist Pay Rate: Up to £350 per day pay range, subject to IR35 status The Defence Logistics Log IS team supports ACDS (Log Ops) in the delivery of a DSN, underpinned by Log IS that is E2E in design and nature with effective logistics management data so that it can be fully interrogated and exploited as a key component of operational information. Effective database management, supported by a clearly defined strategy is essential to the delivery and sustainment of E2E Log IS. The LOGFAS suite of applications is a key element of Log IS, and the management and exploitation of the information stored across the FLC databases is fundamental to the success of logistical planning and support for all UK/NATO operations and exercises. The accuracy and validity of the national LOGFAS database (LOGFAS GBR) is essential for the transfer of information to the NATO LOGFAS database (this information forms the basis of logistics planning and movement for NATO operations and exercises). The primary role for this post is the management and coordination of all LOGFAS GBR database activity, which includes: Update and maintain the configuration of the national LOGFAS database. Management of MSR (Main Supply Route) and HNS CAPCAT (Host Nation Capability Catalogue) information. Represent UK Defence at relevant NATO Log functional working groups as directed by the LOGFAS CIWG. Act as Chair for the LBWG and provide the focal point for the FLC user community, coordinating the creation and management of national LOGFAS datasets on behalf of UK Defence. Formulate the LOGFAS database management strategy. Focal point for all FLC LOGFAS database queries, including resolution of issues. Liaise with ISS Ops CS Jt Ops Plans for all LOGFAS database and system updates. Support the activity to transfer the LOGFAS applications from the AHE to OEHE. Support the planning of National/NATO exercises (NATO Readiness Initiatives and Agile Launch 20). Maintenance of the LOGBASE version control record. A key element of this role is working with FLC and ISS stakeholders to ensure the effective management of the LOGFAS GBR database, providing SQE guidance and cohering all database activity.
