Product Security Architect

Product Security Architect You will have the opportunity to ensure that our submarine combat systems are designed with product security in mind and that their operational and technical data is protected. You will work with other technical specialists and may manage a team of other engineers to help us design, develop, integrate, manage and support complex systems and combat sub-systems for in‑service and future submarines. You will be able to apply your subject matter expertise to ensure that the delivered solutions meet the specified contractual and regulatory requirements and can be operated securely, correctly and safely. Your levels of responsibility will depend on your skills and experience, but you will be able to understand and report the programme status for engineering activities in your area of responsibility, identify problem areas and implement recovery plans, helping us to support our submarines that play a critical role in our nation's defence. Your main responsibilities as a Product Security Architect will involve: Providing advice on product security matters to the project and engineering managers delivering our programmes and ensuring that information management and assurance requirements are correctly considered, defined and implemented. Influencing stakeholders to comply with system architectural principles and objectives and be able to explain the causes, likelihood and potential business impacts on information risks. Ensuring that product security is appropriately considered at each stage of the engineering lifecycle. Supporting the planning and management of specialist activities Your skills and qualifications: Essential: Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science). Knowledge of Cyber Security/Information Assurance activities in the defence, maritime or a relevant highly-controlled domain and have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of information risk management activities on system architectures and the development of risk mitigations. Good communication skills and ability to interact with and manage stakeholders. Desirable: Previous experience with systems of systems, or complex IT projects.
