Overview
Java Engineer (Big Data) Junior, Mid and Senior Levels £40,000 - 100,000 Bonus, Benefits Interested in solving novel, complex and interesting problems in Java? We’re partnered with a fast growing, well funded Series B start up looking to expand their Java engineering team. They have an excellent history of bringing in talented and motivated software developers and providing them with a platform and the autonomy to make a sizeable impact at the company. Currently recruiting across all seniority levels, Junior through to Senior Engineers, they’re solving problems around Data Privacy by building software products that allow enterprises to get the most of of their data without compromising their customers rights to privacy. You would join a bright team building core products in Java, utilising technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, big data stack, distributed systems and algorithmic design and improvement. They're building brand new products that expose them to deeply challenging technical problems, using the latest technologies with leading edge algoritms to understand and effectively tackle big data security and anonymisation problems. Development in done in Java8/11, which sits within a data agnostic Spark platform (although they don’t expect candidates to have experience in Spark - they look for aptitude and attitude over specific technology usage). They have a strong engineering culture, working with small collaborative teams where everyone has a voice. Requirements - BSc or higher degree in Computer Science or a Science, Maths or Engineering discipline - Commercial experience with Java - evidence you’ve worked building a product or service - not just maintained Bonus - Interest of experience in Distributed Systems and/or algorithmic design and improvement - Experience with Amazon AWS or similar - Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark or similar If you are interested in this position please send us your CV to apply.
