Practice Accountant

Accountant Braintree £28,000 - £33,000 Per Annum Monday to Friday (half day on Friday) Key Words: Accountant, Semi Senior Account, Assistant Accountant, VAT, PATE, Accounts, Annual Accounts, Audits, Returns . We are looking for an Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join a company based in Braintree This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday. You will join a small team of accountants who are part of a much large organisation, offering you stability and a good work life balance. Key Responsibilities Review work undertaken by the Accounts Assistants and provide feedback / assist with additional training Prepare complex elements of the job which are likely to include VAT controls, PAYE controls and other difficult areas Prepare draft annual accounts and prepare disclosure checklists to ensure compliant Review schedules prepared for VAT returns and communicate with the client in respect of their liability and submit the relevant return by the deadline date. Ensure that timely feedback is provided to the preparer of the VAT schedules on all assignments Reporting to the Audit Manager on the findings from the audit work undertaken and highlight any issues that may have arisen The ideal candidate will be an experienced Accountant or Assistant Accountant, ideally with experience within Practice. You will be a team player, working to provide a positive experience for all clients. You will have a positive outlook on continued training and development, with a good eye for detail and a positive working manner. In return for your hard work you will receive a basic salary of up to £33,000 plus free onsite parking, flexible working hours.
