Document Controller / Technical Author Location: Leiston, Suffolk Salary: Attractive packages Hours: 40 hours per week Contract: Fixed term 6 months employee contract Sonovision UK provides a full range of Technical Publications to multi-national companies world-wide. We develop printed, electronic and online documentation, working to industry specific standards such as S1000D, ATA, JSP and DITA for the Defence, Energy and Aerospace sectors. Document Controller / Technical Author - The role: We are seeking a Document Controller with Technical Authoring experience to join our team at a nuclear power industry. Lead a team of four Document Controllers to deliver Document Management services to approximately 50 individual programmes of work Provide direction and governance of business processes, on behalf of your line manager, ensure designated programmes are operating to schedule and desired documented levels of control and discipline Continuous development of your team to develop both technical and behavioural excellence, motivating team members, performance managing and providing guidance to deliver an effective team performance Support to the line manager in defining strong relationships with designated programme stakeholders, to successfully promote the value and importance of Document Control Management Take ownership of the individual work packages for designated programme(s), ensuring the required levels resource are available and provide regular workload forecasting. Experience with producing and updating; Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Receipt Inspections, Pre-Assembly Procedures, Assembly / Dismantling Procedures, Commissioning Procedures, Project Definition Documents, Plant Operation Instructions, Functional Test Procedures, Station Operation Instructions, Plant Maintenance Instructions, System Descriptions Adequate competency using different software packages for planning/reporting purposes Produce weekly reports for the project manager Good understanding of engineering data in a variety of formats from Engineering drawings to Design Reports Attend productions meeting with the customers’ management team To be considered for this opportunity: Relevant experience within an engineering environment, with Nuclear industry experience an advantage A pro-active thinker that can provide potential solutions Ability to track production of tasks from conception to completion Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to schedules Ability to work with a minimum of supervision Current CTC or SC Clearance an advantage Please note candidates must successfully undergo UK Security Vetting before they can be appointed.
