Section Engineer M4 -Contract

We are currently looking for various Section on a contract basis to come from a Highways background working on the M4 junction 3-12 with the projects office being based within the Reading area. As the Section Engineer you will work within the West for Junction (Earthworks and Drainage) and Longitudinal Works - VRS and Fencing. The purposed of the Section Engineer role is to undertake the control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline and undertaking the management of a team of Site Engineers within same discipline. Your job duties may include, but not limited to: Ensures that Site Engineers complete the required quality checksheets on a timely basis for the worksCarries out a labour and plant reconciliation and supervises less experienced team membersWorks to specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliersProduces Activity Control Plans / Inspection and Test Plans and obtains approvalCarry out complex setting outProvision of primary setting out control and recognizes the optimum location for installationMaintains accurate diary, including dialogue with external organisations (subcontractors) Job Requirements Able to carry out complex setting outAble to resolve issues with control and information providedStrong knowledge of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Comms, Structures, RoadworksUnderstands specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliersUnderstands required records for commercial recovery and supervises production of these by junior team members Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualifiedStrong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights As mentioned, this is a contract position based in the Reading area and the role is inside of IR35.
