For more information, visit www.dxc.com Role Summary We are currently hiring experienced Storage and Backup Engineers to work on a very exciting digital transformation programme for the UKs largest police force. We require experienced, client focused Engineers with a high standard of communication and documentation skills. All of our engineers require good analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to own and run issues from start to resolution as well as being able to work on both project and BAU based work. The successful candidates will also have experience designing, planning, building, testing and managing, storage and backups solutions. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: We are keen to speak with candidates with specific demonstrable technical skills in the following: · Strong skills with EMC storage solutions, Including VNX, Unity, Isilon, ECS, CTA, RecoverPoint and XIO · Working knowledge of EMC reporting and management solutions including DPA, DCNM and SRM · Strong skills managing Cisco MDS FC switches/fabrics · Strong skills with Netbackup, Netbackup clusters and Netbackup Appliances (inc FLEX) · A working knowledge of Veritas Operations Manager · Scripting and command line skills advantageous. · Knowledge of host configuration for Storage and Backup and vendor best practice. · A good knowledge of Windows Server and VMware advantageous · Fundamental networking knowledge – IP, DNS, IP routing, network address translation etc · Disaster Recovery skills for the above (where applicable) · Knowledge of monitoring and alerting, including the use of SNMP and SMTP. The following soft skills are also desired: · The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with colleagues, project managers, architects, senior management and the client · Excellent design and documentation skills · The ability to manage your own workload and escalate issues if required · The ability to work on more than one project · Excellent troubleshooting skills · The ability to stay calm and collected in sometimes challenging situations · The ability to learn new products and solutions quickly This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89694389
