SQL DBA - Newbury - up to £40,000 A software provider based in Newbury are looking for an experienced SQL DBA to join their tight knit team and help provide support, services, training and enhancements for all their users. They provide the clients with software, implement the solution and are at hand to offer enhancements, third party solutions and product training. They set out to provide the best service available by delivering high level product expertise, product innovation and an exceptional level of customer service. They need an experienced SQL DBA to look after all the customer databases, managing and supporting the business-critical SQL installations. You'll oversee the maintenance and performance of each database, responsible for spotting any areas for improvement or any issues that need tweaking. This will be a client facing role so you must have strong communication skills to liaise with clients, take their requirements and provide expert advice and guidance Responsibilities Monitoring customer SQL Server databases (up to 200) Building and configuring new SQL clusters and databases Managing updates and ensuring databases are running on the latest versions Migration tasks (moving databases from legacy systems into the hosting platform, copying new databases etc.) Design, test and implement backups and disaster recovery Advise clients on proposals for new implementations of migrations Requirements SQL Server (versions from 2016) Previous experience implementing SQL Server Experience working with Azure environment T-SQL Performance tuning Strong communication skills The Company This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business that has a family feel and a friendly, supportive workforce.
