Let's talk about the role. The purpose of the role is to enable and assure that Lowell UK's most material risks and incidents are being managed effectively to achieve its Strategic objectives. This will be done by providing leadership to 2nd line Risk Business partners and Risk and Control owners across the business to ensure they have the appropriate resource, knowledge, skills and commitment to implement and embed Lowell's Risk Management Framework into their day to day operations. Some of the accountabilities and responsibilities will include: Work with and direct Functional 2nd line Risk Business Partner, provide tailored and ongoing education, guidance and support to equip partnered Functions with the knowledge and skills to proactively identify, assess, evaluate, manage and risks (RCSAs) and incidents, in line with the Lowell Risk Framework Communicate complex Risk Management frameworks and processes in a simple, engaging way without the use of Risk jargon to help get 'buy in' Accentuate the commercial benefits of good risk management so that stakeholders are clear of the benefits to them in their role, their Function and Lowell as a whole, thereby acting as a champion of risk management and helping to develop a risk aware culture Take the lead on identifying, in conjunction with Functional Risk Business Partner, the most appropriate strategy to influence partnered Functions and to be flexible in that approach e.g. for less risk mature Functions adopting a much closer partnering model such as facilitating RCSA workshops and for more mature areas focussing on assurance and control testing How do we say thank you? Experience in a similar risk management role Experience of working in a financial services environment (desirable) Good working knowledge of the UK Financial Services Regulatory Regime Excellent understanding of the tools and techniques of Risk Management A people person with strong cross functional working experience and a great communicator - ability to articulate key messages across stakeholders at all levels A confident leader, prepared to challenge Senior Management People Management experience (desirable) An inherent and effective ability to influence the risk management agenda throughout the organisation An ability to analyse a process, system, or deliverable with an eye for detail Familiarity in planning and implementing risk reviews at all levels to determine appropriate levels of control are in place to minimise the potential impacts to the Business Effective relationship building and stakeholder management skills Capability of operating in a fast paced and constantly changing landscape An ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent skills in multi-tasking and managing priorities An approach that is diligent and professional and that engenders trust with others Once you get here, you'll still be going places.
