Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join the LGIM (Legal and General Investment Management) HR team. Reporting into the London based Senior HRBP for LGIM Distribution, Group Digital & LGIM Technology, this role is based in Cardiff and is dedicated to supporting LGIM’s DC/Workplace pensions, and Personal Investing operations and change teams. Your customer group is made up of around 800 colleagues. Our LGIM business manages fixed income, equity, multi-asset, liability-driven investment, property and alternative solutions on behalf of its clients. Located across the globe, our clients include institutional pension funds, financial institutions, local authorities and sovereign wealth funds. In order to meet the complex and evolving investment needs of our clients, we focus on remaining at the forefront of investment product innovation and maintaining our reputation as experts across all asset classes. Working both autonomously and supporting the Senior HRBP, you will partner your London based HRBP colleagues and LGIM’s Distribution and Technology Leadership teams to develop, influence, lead and deliver the HR priorities for the business. Supporting our busy and fast paced business through a period of change, you will deliver expert advice linked to our people policies that are designed to support our corporate objectives and comply with our legislative obligations. You will contribute to the success of the people strategy through the delivery of appropriate, commercially focused advice to ensure desired business outcomes. Principal accountabilities: Contribute to the development of the overall People Plan, through active participation and by leading people programme projects where appropriate. Provide cost effective HR solutions to the business on employee engagement, organisational design/ restructuring, talent and succession management, learning & development, performance management and resource planning Drive and support the organisation wide focus on talent management and development, including the facilitation of the relevant business areas talent and succession planning activity Support the delivery of the learning and development strategy working with the relevant business leadership and the 'Leadership, Talent and Learning Centre of Excellence’ to oversee appropriate development interventions. Support the annual cycle of people activity, including pay review; performance calibration and employee survey. Identify "people issues" and develop appropriate solutions, drawing on support from internal centres of excellence and HR colleagues e.g. absence management, retention, performance, engagement Identify, analyse and interpret people related MI for the purpose of influencing business unit plans and effectively implementing the right business solutions Provide effective advice and coaching to business stakeholders to drive greater accountability and line management responsibility As a subject matter expert, provide advice to managers on the implementation of people policies to ensure they are used within both our principles and the spirit of UK employment law Protect L & G’s reputation through ensuring an effective and constructive partnership between UNITE and the business. Experience Experience of leading Organisational change with a focus on talent management, organisation design and culture change Understanding and practical application of project management techniques Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influencing senior leadership teams on HR matters and linking this to business strategy. Experience of providing effective HR partnership to support the business with an awareness of the different challenges that are faced. Understanding of a range of Organisational development techniques to drive engagement, business performance and culture change. Capability to source, gather, analyse and interpret business focused HR data to enable effective decision making. Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Experience of working in a matrix organisation is required. Has the drive and initiative to be effective autonomously as well as being a collaborative team player. Pragmatic, flexible and resilient - ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with high aptitude for multi-tasking and priortising multiple deadlines is essential. Knowledge Essential experience in and understanding of employment law, generic HR policies and procedures. Business transformation experience is essential. Understanding of people development methodologies and current best practice. Financial Services industry experience is preferred, particularly working with large retail operations’ / client servicing teams. Understanding of TUPE and experience of the people aspects of mergers and acquisition preferred.
