Overview

Role: Accounts Assistant Contract: Permanent Salary: Up to £25,000 depending on experience Location: Orbital 7, Cannock, Staffordshire. WS11 8XW As an Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for; - Reconciling the New Equipment inventory and work in progress balances in the ledger to M3 to ensure all stock is accounted for correctly, clearing all reconciling items and taking any necessary action required - Producing and reviewing the monthly sales analysis to ensure the individual truck margins are stated correctly in line with the salesman’s order and process any necessary accruals, adjustments etc. - Liaising with the New Equipment Admin department to ensure transactions are processed correctly and the accounting records are maintained in accordance with their expectations - Monitoring the use of New Equipment inventory and cost of sale reserve provisions. - Produce monthly New Equipment reports for the management information pack. - Calculating the monthly sales commission for the regional and key teams and collate other commission payments and pass to payroll for processing. Reconcile commission account to ensure the correct accruals are maintained in the balance sheet - Responsible for the processing and reconciliation of allocated general ledger accounts including accruals and prepayments such as IT Prepayments. - Providing cover for Treasury activities for holidays etc - Maintaining the non-fleet fixed asset register, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly with the necessary authorisations including the calculation of the monthly depreciation charge to the profit and loss account - Collating and submitting the monthly intrastat return for the UK business and deal with any queries raised by the business or HMRC. - Collating and submitting the quarterly EC sales list returns for the UK business and deal with any queries raised by the business or HMRC. As an Accounts Assistant you will demonstrate; - At least 2 years Experience in Accounts Assistant Role - ATT qualification preferred but not essential - An understanding of Intrastat and EC Sales - Substantial experience in pure finance activities: prepayment, accruals and reconciliations As a Accounts Assistant you will command; - A base salary up to £25,000 - Briggs Boost benefit scheme, offering high street discounts - Paycare medical scheme - Contributory pension scheme - Eye care vouchers - 25 days holiday bank holidays About Us Briggs Equipment is an engineering services and asset management specialist with its people core to everything that it does.
