Job Description Line Manager IT Business Manager Job Title Systems Lead - Data & Integration Office Northampton Department IT Department Purpose of the Role You will be dynamic, confident, and driven with excellent communication skills. You will have a natural ability to build effective relationships and influence key colleagues across the organisation. The role will take the lead on data, integration and automation. You will analyse our business applications and associated data, gain a deep understanding and work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve process through technology. Whilst the role will be varied it will have a specific focus on extracting value using Microsoft’s Power Apps platform including Power BI and Power Automate. An understanding of data and associated models will be key. As the subject matter expert for data and integration and automation, you will analyse our systems and create a roadmap for improvement. These initiatives once agreed will be implemented directly and through the management of external providers. Flexibility is key and you will equally be required to deep dive into the data and systems to implement improvements as well as step back and produce a tactical plan. This role is responsible for business process improvement and automation. More than just managing the technology you will be an expert in understanding process and working with our business to identify improvements, create a compelling business case and then deliver on them. Reporting Lines Reports to: IT Business Manager Direct Reports: None Stakeholders: IT Contacts, Partners, Other Central functions Main Responsibilities Be a subject matter expert for data, integration and automation Take the lead on business process and data mapping Manage the Database Administration 3rd party and assure their work Run checks against the performance of our database infrastructure, own the actions that arise Chair the Data Analytics working group, ensure that they scheduled, and that actions are recorded and followed through on to the agreed time Work with Practice Management to identify improvement in data and reporting Understand the business reporting requirements and design reports that exceed expectations Build reports using appropriate tools such as PowerBI, SQL Reporting and Excel Research, design and implement data standards that are appropriate for our business Build forms and simple applications to supplement our existing off the shelf applications Identify and implement initiatives that save time, add functionality or improve decision making Regularly research technology solutions to our business problems and prepare succinct business cases that offer cost effective improvements Assist the IT Business Manager with reviewing existing technology investments and identifying opportunities to improve performance and/or reduce cost Ensure that a professional, courteous and proactive IT service is always delivered to our customers General duties Ensure that written work is delivered to a continual high standard and that all the appropriate firm policies for document release are adhered to Ensure that all information is kept secure and not disclosed inappropriately Ensure that the operations under your management and control sustain the appropriate level of quality assurance standards Accept additional responsibilities as specifically requested by the IT Business Manager Ensure you always project a professional image To comply with, and ensure that your staffs comply with, all required firm procedures To carry out your duties in accordance with the firm’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies To maintain high standards of quality of work, personal presentation and personal conduct To hold a valid driving licence Reporting and administrative duties Data administration as required Weekly and Monthly management reporting N/A Financial responsibilities and authority limits Decision Making Parameters Business plans and IT Strategy Policies and procedures Own initiative Delegation Project and Systems Analyst (As agree with IT Business Manager) Qualification and Essential Skills Qualifications: Microsoft 365 certification highly desirable Microsoft Data and AI certification highly desirable Essential skills: Minimum 3 years’ experience managing data and integrations in a similar business In depth knowledge of applications, data and integration and the associated principles Highly skilled in the analyse and manipulation of data Ability to build accurate and visually compelling reporting using tools such as Power BI Experience creating requirements specification and taking them to market for solutions Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Office 365 and Microsoft Power Apps The use of automation technology to improve business process would be a distinct advantage A good general knowledge of end user technologies, e.g. PC’s, Audio Visual, Mobile Phones, Telephone systems A broad understanding of technology and a good level of awareness of technical concepts
