Nursery Chef Assistant
Overview
Salary and benefits: £8.50-£9.50 per hour Hours: 16.25 a week (Mon- Fri 11am-2pm) Location: 17 Elm Grove, Wimbledon, SW19 4HE Overview of the role As a Nursery Chef Assistant, you will help to provide nutritious balanced meals at lunch, tea and snack time for up to 70 children in our beautiful nursery in Wimbledon. You will need to follow a rolling menu and adhere to dietary and health and safety requirements. You will work closely with the Nursery Chef to help order ingredients/ stock and you will help with the overall running of the nursery kitchen. Salary and benefits Competitive salary: up to £9.50 per hour Monthly rewards Refer a friend bonus Free training and DBS check Up to 40% childcare discounts Role Specification Ideally from an education or care background Up to date food hygiene certificate Knowledge of health and safety requirements Experience working to environmental standards Excellent references and a clear enhanced DBS The ability to relate and interact with children The ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions A willingness to learn new skills and ask for support when required A reasonable level of IT skills would be an advantage Good level of numeracy and literacy (minimum level 1 functional skills, GCSE maths and English grades D-F or equivalent) If you have GCSE (or equivalent) English and maths grades A-C you will be able to start on the advanced apprenticeship immediately An introductory level in Child Development, Health and Social Care or similar entry level qualification is an advantage but not essential Fennies Day Nurseries is committed to the safeguarding of children, and child protection screening will apply to this post.
