Overview

Kent Fire & Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity for a Medway Task Force Officer to work in a multi-disciplinary team as the lead officer for Kent Fire & Rescue Service. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary of £25,169 – £28,896 per annum. Our Medway Task Force Officer will be passionate about community safety interventions and will be responsible for developing local community relationships and activities, that include conducting Community safety activities, to meet Kent Fire & Rescue Service objectives, together with evaluation of these activities to ensure that resources are focused in the most effective and efficient way. Key responsibilities as our Medway Task Force Officer: - The post holder will be responsible for the development of local KFRS community relationships and activity in order to meet KFRS objectives along with the wider Medway Task Force objectives. - The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the evaluation of KFRS local community activity in the Medway area. This will ensure that KFRS resources are focussed in the most effective and efficient way to meet customers’ needs. - Responsible for ensuring performance monitoring of KFRS Local Performance Indicators (LPIs) within the Medway Area. This will enable KFRS to understand the impact and benefits of working within the Medway Task Force. - Responsible for providing regular written and verbal updates on the KFRS activities within the Medway Task Force. These updates include Operational Group, Collaboration Team and also Corporate Management Board/Senior Management. This will ensure there is organisational awareness of the activities within the Task Force. What we’re looking for in our Medway Task Force Officer : - Knowledge of partnership/collaboration working within the public and/or private sector to ensure that partnership working is focus on the most beneficial areas. - Organisational knowledge and understanding, including current KFRS collaboration and partnership working. - Understand KFRS objectives to ensure the KFRS activities conducted within the task force is aimed to towards KFRS objectives. - Understanding of KFRS Community Safety strategies, policies and partnership working practices. This includes Community Safety Partnerships. - Competent in relevant IT systems including Microsoft Office applications (WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT). - A good level of communication both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences and in a variety of formats. Negotiating and influencing skills to be able to engage with a wide range of partners and the ability to build effective working relationships. - The ability to analyse information in order to make decisions that are based on relevant data, meet the needs of the team/organisation and evaluates potential risks/benefits. - The ability to present and communicate complex information to stakeholders in a structured and efficient manner, taking into account complex audience needs. - Level 2 literacy or equivalent qualification/experience. - Evidence of partnership working and ability to manage organisational and partnership objectives/perspectives. - Experience of Community Safety initiatives. This will involve assessing the issue, formulating the plan, implementing the desired inputs to achieve the required outcomes.
