Overview
Senior IT Support Leek (Staffordshire) 12 Month Fixed Term Contract I am currently recruiting for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for providing a single point of contact for internal IT customers and external third-party service providers. The Senior IT Support Engineer will manage communication, initial diagnosis, prioritisation and resolution or fulfilment of all incidents and requests according to agreed service levels. The Senior IT Support Engineer will support IT systems and infrastructure projects to deliver new capabilities, diagnosing and resolving incidents and requests including investigation and troubleshooting while performing daily system checks and responding to real-time alerts from monitoring and respond to Service Desk phone calls and emails from internal IT consumers, managing hardware break/fix and coordinating engineers. It is essential that the Senior IT Support Engineer is capable of working in an ITIL aligned operational support environment with excellent knowledge and experience supporting server and storage with the ability to work to project deadlines, within ticket response and resolution SLAs. You will have experience with Microsoft Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, WSUS), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, VMware vCenter, Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and ESXi, EMC VNX & Data Domain Storage, Veeam Backup & Replication, Enterprise server hardware including lights out management (e.g. iLO) and LAN and WAN Networking (Routing and switching protocols, IP addressing, network devices and functions, patching and troubleshooting techniques). Desirable experience for the Senior IT Support Engineer includes experience participating in disaster recovery rehearsals, acting as an escalation point to technically support the team with experience in the following; Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online), Microsoft Exchange (On Premise), Microsoft SharePoint (On Premise), Firewalls (CheckPoint or Fortinet), Solaris 10, Oracle RDMS, SQL Server and Sophos Anti-virus. Qualifications such as; Microsoft Certifications (MCSE/MCSA), VMware VCP, EMC Associate Certifications and ITIL Foundation in Service Management.
