Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP has partnered with Robert Walters to recruit an Application Support Engineer to join Freshfields Global Centre based in Manchester City Centre. Function Overview Our main focus is to provide full maintenance and technical support forthe applications we use. The team is made up of engineers and developers which means we can provide a holistic approach to supporting applications. We are a technical 3rd line support team who ensure that fee earners and their clients can securely and efficiently collaborate on any business matters using existing applications, but providing support and technical guidance for new request. We also aim to maintain any internal processes and to quickly and efficiently keep track and respond to any IT related issues by maintaining our service management software. The role will be to provide continuous support to the existing team, but also an opportunity for new ideas to be shared with a growing area within the Firm. 24/7 call out will be required on occasion 1 week in every 5 weeks Essential Problem Solving / Troubleshooting IIS / Windows Basic knowledge of SQL Some awareness of backend services using WebAPIs An awareness of Java and C# application deployments An awareness of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployments Understanding of cloud solutions - Azure Awareness of low code application development - Mendix Desirable Technical Skills Knowledge of XML, XSLT, XPATH and XML Schemas Agile methodology experience SQL Awareness of REST, JSON Mobile Apps (any experience of development or publishing application) Atlassian suite (Jira / Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo etc) Desirable Experience Experience and skills in supporting server-side and desktop services and applications in C#, Java Experience and skills in supporting a backend services using WebAPIs 3rd Line Support and Troubleshooting Basic cloud administration and solutions - Azure Low Code application support and development - Mendix This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/89757448
