Overview

Band 5 Occupational Therapist Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge in mental health? Cygnet Hospital Clifton is a 24 bed specialist low secure service for men with a personality disorder, who also present with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours. We offer access to a daily full time occupational therapy programme, psychological interventions, full nursing and psychiatric care ensuring a holistic package of care for all. This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In this role you will: Work closely with the Occupational Therapy team and onsite MDT who will assist you in the day to day duties and running of the OT department Manage a defined caseload of clients using evidenced based practice / client based principles Complete assessments which inform the planning and facilitation of interventions appropriate to the client’s needs, choices and interests Receive support from the OT Clinical Lead to further develop your OT experience and skills We are looking for people who have: A degree / postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy, registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and a member of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy) Experience in the field of Mental Health is preferred An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team A good understanding of core Occupational Therapy skills and the motivation to keep up-to-date with current best practice in OT Excellent communication / time management skills In return we will offer you: Salary of £25,000 (Rising to £27,000 upon completion of preceptorship) Company pension scheme Free meals on duty Supervision by a highly specialist OT You will be in a small hub of OT with an experienced Head OT in a local service and excellent peer support.
