Overview
Class 1 Driver Moffett Warwick/Coventry Salary: £37,440 per annum (£15.00ph) 48 hour working week Monday-Friday (nights out £35.00 paid) Reporting to: Operations and Transport Manager he Role: To work on a variety of sites delivering and on occasion installing the company's products, ensuring compliance with Construction Industry Codes of Practice, Company Procedures, Relevant Safety Standards and Client Requirements. To ensure customer satisfaction by promoting a positive impression and delivering a first-class service Health, Safety & Environment: Be familiar with and demonstrate a commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety & Environmental Policies. Key Responsibilities: The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below: To liaise with operations department regarding the following day's journey including planning the route of delivery, allowing for any timed drops or other irregularities To check that load items, security, all necessary equipment, paperwork and fuel cards are on board prior to leaving the depot for the day's journey To perform and record daily vehicle safety checks before departure To unload goods at the customer's premises safely, efficiently, in first class condition, in a safe and professional manner To be aware of the legal load capacity of the vehicle to be driven To be aware of and follow company procedure for vehicle breakdowns To complete all company required documentation Report to management all vehicle defects and maintenance requirements as soon as possible and drivers daily check sheet To Keep your allocated vehicle clean and in good working order To follow driving rules and regulations within the Working Time Directive (WTD) To assist with warehouse duties as required Role Demands The role will require nights away from home (expenses paid) The role may require working antisocial hours on occasions Some overtime will be required for business needs Person Specification Level of Knowledge & Experience: Must hold a Moffett licence Comprehensive level of Class 1 driving experience Sound commercial vehicle driving experience Driver CPC in date Must Hold a Digi card and driver card Must not have more than 6 points on your licence Excellent knowledge of the highway code Good knowledge of Health and Safety regulations Skills: Ability to analyse situations and make decisions accordingly Excellent organisational and planning skills Literacy and numeracy skills Excellent communication skills in order to influence the actions of others Ability to gain trust and respect of team members and customers in order to develop relationships Enthusiasm to drive the business forward and personally succeed Strong desire and belief to be the best in all aspects of your role Have Geographical knowledge Competencies: Willingness to attend training for compliance and role progression Willingness to take ownership and accountability and see things through to completion Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, demonstrating resilience, flexibility and ability to maintain positive relationships Aware of personal strength and development needs Initiative - Anticipates problems and makes informed decisions.
