Overview
THE COMPANY: Brewster Partners are recruiting for our client who has a growing team in the distribution sector. The role of Transport Planner would suit someone with relevant experience from logistics, distribution, 3PL or route planning, and is located within easy access of a main motorway route. THE JOB: The job involves working as part of a wider logistics team to plan and co-ordinate routes effectively and accurately to ensure customer satisfaction at all times. Duties will include: Cost effective planning of vehicles to meet customer load plans Informing drivers of their loads/collections Daily communication with the booking team on new collections and deliveries Monitoring and managing loads to ensure delivery schedules are met Managing and ensuring adequate resource is available i.e drivers, vehicles, trailers Ensuring all legal requirements are met including drivers hours and tachograph requirements Liaison with drivers and managing discipline Full communication with other planners, de-briefers and management Ensuring data that is input on the traffic management system is of an high standard and accurate Building excellent relationship with customers Working with other transport companies organising back loads THE PERSON: To be successful in your application you need to be able to demonstrate the following: Similar vehicle route planning experience within the logistics industry, ideally general haulage Used to working under pressure and hitting deadlines Knowledge of driver's hour's regulations and WTD An International CPC would be desirable A great attitude/work ethic, a willingness to learn and customer service focus are essential qualities, as are exceptional organisational skills THE BENEFITS: 28 days holiday Pension scheme Personal growth and development opportunities Brewster Partners Office Support & Technical Recruitment is a division of the Brewster Partners Recruitment Group focusing on the recruitment of talent in administration, business support, HR, sales, marketing and purchasing in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the Midlands.
