Overview
Job summary As a successful candidate you will be working in the IRIS Accountancy Solutions business unit.This part of IRIS produces software for UK accountancy practices.The development team is split in to three specialist areas – Accounts Production, Tax and Core Systems.You will be working as part of an Agile team to deliver solutions to user stories and requirements in an agile environment. The role is a challenging and dynamic one, with key deadlines to be hit. The role will require learning new skills and bringing a focused attitude to the tasks You will be involved in testing various different applications.These applications form part of an integrated suite, based around a core SQL database. Main responsibilities · Execute software testing tasks assigned within agreed timescales and to a high quality standard. · Work to test assigned bug fixes ensuring problem is reproducible without and not reproducible with the bug fix, and therefore prove it has been resolved by the bug fix. · Perform exploratory testing in areas potentially affected by the implementation of a requirement or bug fix. · Participate actively in test case design. · Contribute to production of supporting internal documentation · Achieve agreed productivity targets in order to ensure test tasks are delivered within budget and to schedule. Reporting as early as possible to manager where deliverables cannot be met. · Collaborate with Agile team under supervision of Scrum Master and direction of senior quality engineers. · Review technical specifications for tasks assigned, providing comments and feedback to producer. · Ensure all personal work is reviewed to the relevant test standards. · Timely and accurate reporting of assigned task status as required by your manager.
