PLC / SCADA Systems Engineer – Shropshire – Permanent – c.£45-60k Bonus Car/Car Allowance – Exciting Blue Chip / Big Brand Projects Samuel Frank Associates require an experienced PLC / SCADA Systems Engineer to join a rapidly expanding system integrator in Shropshire. The client is looking for a seasoned/experienced PLC / SCADA Systems Engineer, someone who has worked for a special purpose machine manufacturer or a systems integrator supplying to industries such as manufacturing, automotive, robotics or metal processing could be well suited. Key aspects of the PLC / SCADA Systems Engineer role include – Strong knowledge in either Siemens or Rockwell PLCs and the associated SCADA packages Strong documentation skills – previous experience of writing Functional Design Specifications Networks / Fieldbus experience – Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus Any higher level programming language experience such as Python / C# would be useful The successful PLC / SCADA Systems Engineer will have engineering responsibility for a range of projects throughout their full life cycle. All work will need to comply with the company’s ISO9001 registered quality procedures. Systems Engineers with experience of developing systems for material handling, conveyor systems, factory automation, variable speed drives or robotic cells will be well suited. This role will suit an individual used to working in a project led, system integration background. You will be able to manage projects successfully and have experience of managing suppliers to ensure all purchases are delivered on time and are competitively priced. You will also be involved with onsite commissioning where required. The client estimates this will be around 20-25% of your time, almost exclusively in the UK and a long site stint would be 3 weeks, normally 1 week. The client has a fantastic reputation and is a very well established organisation. This position is required because of a period of sustained growth.
