Overview

Despatch Supervisor We’ve seen fantastic growth over recent years at Westcoast and have recently announced plans to expand our operational capacity in 2020. We have opened a new warehousing facility which will double our warehousing space combined with the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System. This gives us further room to provide innovative logistics services to our wide range of customers. What is the role? As Despatch Supervisor you will work as part of our Warehouse Operations Team in Theale who provide a highly effective and customer centric service. You will be responsible for the stock movement in and out of our Theale warehouse, including accurate picking, packing and despatching of all shipments. The working hours for this role will be 9am – 5.30pm but will require flexibility during peak periods. How will you do this? Supervise and motivate Despatch, Admin and Team Leader operatives. Training of new staff. Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety standards. Plan and provide new processes and strategies to improve overall efficiency. Operating and driving machinery including the use of lifting equipment and lift trucks, as required. Responsible for the coordination of all department despatches, parcels and pallets. Picking, Packaging and labelling stock before being shipped out of the warehouse. Stock replenishing. Ability to work within company policies and objectives. Awareness of all warehouse and department guidelines. Is this the role for you? To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas: Previous experience within a warehouse environment in a team leader or supervisory role essential. An organised and methodical approach with the ability to maintain this under pressure. Able to follow warehouse and department processes and procedures. Attention to detail, able to complete repetitive tasks to a high standard. Able to work independently and as part of a large, diverse team. Able to maintain an awareness of their working environment and work to Health and Safety standards High level of ability with the Microsoft suite of programs such as Excel and Outlook. Effective communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English. Ideally, you’ll have experience operating forklift (counterbalance/reach) or VNA trucks – if not then we will give you in-house training to get your licence and complete conversions on relevant existing licences.
