Overview

Our client’s specialist research services provide valuable support to drug discovery and development pipelines. Situated in Manchester, this company offers preclinical services both in vitro and in vivo, with their main specialisms being in oncology and inflammatory diseases and extensive experience with the gastrointestinal disease area. The Pharmacogenomics Senior Scientist will be responsible for delivering and driving studies for clients as well as the business internally. They will upskill other members of the laboratory team in technical skills and knowledge, generating data to expand our menu of services, and interpreting and reporting data to clients. Main responsibilities as a Pharmacogenomics Senior Scientist include but not limited to: Provide support and guidance to other laboratory team members on technical matters, and contribute to up-skilling all team members Provide technical guidance to drive and deliver projects, whilst liaising with other relevant functions within the business such as bioinformatics, business development, marketing, and QA Be responsible for solving complex operational, technical and data analysis problems Be responsible for supporting the generation of new products and services What experience and qualifications do I need? PhD with 2 years’ experience ideally in laboratories using gene expression technologies, or MSc with 4 years’ experience, or BSc with 6 years’ experience Must be proficient in PCR, Array and NGS platforms with associated data analysis, ideally within a GCLP compliant laboratory Candidates with experience in microbiome profiling and/or single-cell sequencing technologies, as well as working within a relevant commercial environment are strongly preferred How do I apply?
