Overview

Residential Child Care Worker who is caring, compassionate, understanding and has a passion for supporting and working with children is required to join a fantastic team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. SALARY: £18,250 - £21,556 per annum £36 per sleep in LOCATION: Salisbury, Wiltshire JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 39 Hours per Week (you will need to have the flexibility and understanding that the home is open all year round. JOB OVERVIEW We are looking for Residential Support Childcare Workers to come and join the family at homes in the heart of Salisbury and to the north of Salisbury. Working as the Residential Child Care Worker you will assist the children/young person in understanding their own emotions and articulating their feelings, building a culture of mutual respect within the home by offering a rationale for their actions, and by apologising when mistakes are made. The home do this by developing their teams understanding of psychological dynamics through training and regular clinical consolations with a psychologist, who will explore practice within he home Their high-quality residential environments around the country provide a sense of calm, care and belonging to their children / Young people. Each child has a unique therapeutic, clinical and educational need. At the home they don’t subscribe to ‘one model fits all’, they create a bespoke, integrated package for each child which pulls on the full range of services and resources and specialisms which is applied in a joined-up and tailored way. As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will be positive, willing to open your heart, emotionally invest and prioritise the children’s needs. You will need to be adaptable in all you do whilst showing respect to the children/young people and your colleagues. Your integrity plays a big part in this role and along with support from others the home will teach and train you to be excellent in all you do. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As the Residential Child Care Worker, you will have the following: Must have a Full Driving license Good written and IT skills Able to communicate with children, colleagues and external customers Able to actively listen to others Ability to work individually and as part of a team Be calm in situations of crisis and follow the lead of a shift leader Must have a passion for working with children QCF Level 3 in Children and Young people is desirable.
