Chartered Building Surveyor

Carriera is currently recruiting for one of the UK’s leading property consultants, to secure a chartered building surveyor for their well-established Bristol Office. The business is a highly prestigious and long-standing property consultancy that has 10 offices based across the UK. They are comprised of over 500 professionals specialising in quantity surveying, project management, building surveying, architecture, civil engineering and more. Their commitment to providing a timely, pragmatic and quality service, has enabled them to continue their successes and develop some astonishing relationships which have seen them deliver commercial schemes up to £30 Million in value. These projects are produced worldwide in countries such as USA, Russia, Africa, Middle East as well as the UK working within a varied amount of sectors ranging from education, retail, commercial, residential, sport & leisure, motorsport and more. About the Role The position will be based in their Bristol office, which currently houses around 30-40 professional staff. They work with a wide range of clients, managing property portfolios, projects and transactions overseeing projects from inception through to completion. The position will see you providing advice on design elements, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of residential and commercial property. Your building pathology knowledge will be pulled upon to carry out building and measured surveys, ensuring buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards. Other day to day duties may consist of: • Training and supporting your younger peers throughout their APC. • Schedules of Dilapidations • Writing specification reports, PPM, costings. • Handling claims and negotiations, client-facing About you The firm is looking for a technical yet also competent individual who is either chartered and commercially focused. You will need to have a good understanding of loss adjusting and asset management, as well as experience working throughout the private sector. It is imperative that you have a degree in building surveying and can demonstrate a fine level of communication and commercial awareness. You will be expected to demonstrate proven business development skills and will be expected to engage on a client-facing business, developing and nurturing existing and new relationships.
