Research Development Lead Are you a Software Engineer witha passion for Research? Or are you already in a similar position with a desire to run a team? Join the Raytheon Strategic Research Group (SRG) The SRG forms part of Raytheon UK’s Cyber and Intelligence business with a small multi-disciplinary team made up of experts focused on next generation research in AI, security and cloud technology. You will have the opportunity to join and take on a technical leadership/mentoring position using your expertise in software engineering, data and a passion for working on ground breaking projects and technologies. SRG is not like any other research team where ideas and projects get lost in the void – they focus on tangible results, creating unique prototypes and meaningful propositions. You will have a mix of internally and customer funded projects to base ideas from. To give an idea a lot of our projects can be focused around machinke learning, data science and prototyping in a variety of technical languages. We’d expect you to have some of the following skills: · Solid technical foundation – with ideally some time spent in an academic or commercially focused research role · Strong knowledge of data science and associated skillsets · Proven track record in technical leadership, being able to mentor and guide other members of the team · Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) This is a rough guideline, if you like what you read and believe you could bring something into this role we’d love to hear from you.
