Job Description Communities and Families Pupil Support Leader Holy Rood RC High School Salary: £50,772 Hours: 35 per week Holy Rood is a Catholic secondary school with a roll of 1040 pupils. It is situated in the conservation village of Duddingston to the east of Holy Rood Park. There are six Catholic primary schools within the Holy Rood catchment area, which covers a large section of the eastern side of the city of Edinburgh. However, as a result of parental choice, the current First Year has attracted pupils from a total of 26 different primary schools. Holy Rood is an inclusive school based on gospel values which respects the dignity of the individual and firmly puts the child at the centre. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education. The Job Outline Pupil Support Leaders are part of a Management and Leadership Team of teaching staff within Holy Rood RC High School to ensure high quality pupil support with the ultimate aim of maximising attainment and support for all pupils. All Pupil Support Leaders have a specific remit (and area of responsibility) and so play a lead role in the school structure. Pupil Support Leaders have responsibility for a caseload, assist in the teaching and delivery of the PSE Programme and work with smaller groups and individual pupils within their caseload. As well as having a specific responsibility in Pupil Support, Pupil Support Leaders are expected to be forward thinking and innovative in terms of leading, managing and delivering the most appropriate PSE/HWB/CfE courses to all levels of ability at all stages in the school. Pupil Support Leaders will undertake the duties outlined for all teachers as set out in Annex B of ‘A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century’. Pupils Support Leaders will teach for up to 50% of the pupil week. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
