The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, full-time Systemic Practitioner to work in our ten bed CAMHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people and families experiencing a high degree of distress and will be committed to working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. A degree of flexibility in terms of working hours to accommodate families is desirable. The role involves undertaking assessments and making recommendations for systemic work for young people as they move into other services, offering family work to individual families under the supervision of the Lead Family Therapist and supporting the team to think systemically in formal and informal contexts. Working as part of a small, friendly team there are opportunities for continuing professional development following successful probation period. These include working with colleagues in a weekly family therapy clinic with a range of clients from across the CAMHS and Adult Eating Disorder services within Cheadle Priory. We also meet regularly as part of a small network of systemic thinkers working in tier four services to share best practice and to facilitate continuing professional development. Intermediate qualification or CYP/IAPT training in systemic family practice (SFP) qualification is required ideally with a core qualification such as Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, etc. Systemic supervision is provided on site.
