We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Shift Technician to join the team based at our Glasgow Recycling and Renewable Energy Centre (GRREC), working 42.5 hours a week. The Role: The Shift Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant, from within a central control room and out in the field, on a 24-hour shift rotation. Working as part of a team, your duties will include plant and equipment process changes to optimise process performance, as well as process and equipment fault diagnosis and rectification along with system isolations. You'll take responsibility for DCS operation and alarm handling; as well as the operation of the GRREC and boiler chemistry. When updating the shift log, the Shift technician will include plant and process changes, and ensure a diligent shift handover takes place so the following shift is well-informed. Continuous and routine monitoring of the plant must be undertaken to minimise environmental impacts. This role requires a flexible approach to ensure that vital work is achieved in a timely and accurate manner. There will be a seven day shift system, meaning weekends, nights and bank holidays will be worked. The ideal Shift Technician: Mechanical / Electrical / Process Plant experience is essential Safety qualification, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively and efficiently Strong understanding of safe systems of work, i.e. plant isolations and safety systems Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Rewards and Benefits: In return for your hard work as our Shift Technician, we can offer a competitive salary, plus a shift premium and a package including contributory pension scheme, optional healthcare and a range of flexible benefits.
