Front End Developer - JavaScript / React About the role My client, one the UK's best know / oldest banking banks are opening a new state of the art tech hub in Holborn. For a Front End Developer like you, it's a unique opportunity to get a Centre of Engineering Excellence off the ground, influence its evolution and grow your career. What you'll be doing As a Front End Developer you'll be at the frontline working across the technology portfolio to help solve complex problems by building and testing the front ends for systems that are processing millions of transactions per day. Our diverse IT estate ranges from legacy to cutting edge Proof of Concepts and as a team player we want you to develop contacts and relationships so things are done faster and more efficiently. We'll expect you to get stuck in and have a go, knowing that sometimes to fail fast is to learn fast. You will join a new team of engineers who like you will all be agile thinkers and ready to learn new technologies, techniques and architectures. For us, it's not just about having the right technical background, you need to have an open mind, be able to work collaboratively and be able to help other to learn and succeed. About you We are looking for someone who has commercial experience using the following technologies: Development using the React framework Redux CSS3, HTML ES6 Javascript React oriented testing frameworks using Jest, Enzyme or similar CSS pre-processing tools (SASS, LESS) Server side development tools (Webpack, Babel or Webpack) Secure software development principles in line with standard Information Security frameworks A knowledge of web optimisation techniques (Bundling, compression, minifying etc) Experience in the deployment and hosting of front end projects using CI/CD is a nice to have.
