Job Title: Technical Facilities Engineer Number of Positions: 1 Location: London Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Advert Start Date: 05/03/2020 Purpose: The facilities Technician’s role will be to have technical knowledge of electrical systems, including test inspection, mechanical power equipment, control wiring and fault finding. Must have good communication skills to be able to discuss work and progress with customers and relevant managers. Primary Tasks: Reporting to the Technical Facilities Manager Help the Facilities management provider, daily operation and incident reporting. Work closely with the incumbent FM team and external contractors. First fix response to FM related breakdowns, repairs, infrastructure and building fabric Maintain PAT and cable management. Attend all building repairs and fixing including but not limited to: civil work, electrical, mechanical, decorating, carpentry Run frequent fabric check to the facility, report to the TFM any defects and repair. In charge for all building defects and repairs. Working on outstanding/pending main project defects following up with main contractor. Liaise with contractors, implement civil work and follow up. Maintain the stock levels for essential spare parts and raising requests for replacements, Diagnose and fix breakdown faults, to maintain an effective maintenance service Preventing and stopping any unsafe situations, and maintaining a safe and tidy place of work, Work with the company to meet its legal obligations, and demonstrate health and safety of the staff is of the highest importance, Help with designing the risk assessment and with the preparation of Safe Operating Procedures and follow all safety procedures, Act as a role model to ensure health and safety is and stays ‘top of the agenda’ Additional duties when required by facilities management Supervise and help contractors working on site. Ensure smooth site operation welfare, and health and safety measures. Weekly progress report to line manager The above responsibilities are not limited to the description and may be modified by the company at any time. Essential Skills Required: You will have experience of working on site services equipment/amenities and be responsible enough to work on your own for large periods of time. Proven professional experience in technical projects/design in a similar Television Broadcast environment. Able to demonstrate strategic, conceptual and analytical skills including a solid understanding of Electro Mechanical Engineering. Must have a full knowledge of Autocad (Read & Write). Proven experience in project management, design, planning, managing and budgeting. Proven experience in power saving and facilities management Proven and up to date experience in designing infrastructure of broadcasting studios. Good and up to date knowledge of Health & safety and Risk assessment procedures. Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, High level of organisation, with the ability to multi task and prioritise workload, Commercially aware and knowledgeable in industry standards, with clear understanding of the stakeholder requirement. The ability to work on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems. Broad based engineering skills. Computer literate with PLC experience. Good standard of spoken and written English. Experience & Qualification: At least 7 years’ experience within Media broadcast industry. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent. Fault finding and maintenance experience of facilities equipment, both electrical and mechanical. Strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures and policies. Arabic Language is an advantage.
