Overview
Joining us as an Independent Living Coordinator, you will provide a high-quality housing management service primarily to older people which empowers wellbeing and independence. You will work in conjunction with colleagues within the Independent Living Team, providing a high-quality housing management and support service to older people living in Stockport Homes’ Sheltered, Extra Care and 60 Housing; liaising with the SMBC Adult Social Care teams to support customers to promote and maintain their independence. Undertaking scheme inductions for new customers and ensuring that all records are stored accurately and securely, and that strict confidentiality is maintained, you will assist and encourage consultation with customers enabling them to make informed decisions in relation to the services they receive at a local level and from the organisation. Applicants must be naturally caring individuals who understand what it takes to work with vulnerable older people. Able to deal with people in a patient and respectful manner, you must be capable of working alone as well as part of a team and establish and maintain effective professional relationships. Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
