Join our Business Systems team at a key point in our Data and Reporting overhaul. Be a pivotal lead in designing and implementing our data warehouse to support the launch of PowerBI. Lead in transforming our self-serve reporting capabilities and support the implementation of new Finance, Compliance and Operational systems through data migration and configured integrations. From Queries, Stored Procedures and SQL Server Agent jobs, to creating inspiring visualizations and reports to inform business direction, the role will keep you on your toes and give you the opportunity to utilize all your skills. JOB DESCRIPTION Title: SQL Developer Reports to: Business Systems Manager Job Purpose To develop MS-SQL queries and procedures, create SSRS reports, optimise queries, stored procedures and functions to enhance organisational productivity. Key Accountabilities Understand the business structure, processes and procedures. Understand the complex database schemas for each of the core systems. Write complex SQL queries and utilise reporting tools like SSRS or Power BI to present meaningful MI to the organisation. Create tables, views, functions, triggers, stored procedures etc. in SSMS. Develop, implement and optimise queries, stored procedures and functions. Analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements. Write and implement any necessary data cleanses. Review and interpret ongoing business reporting requirements & develop the associated reports. Manage reporting requirements / issues logged via the support desk and work to tight SLAs. Document existing SQL code in non-technical jargon. Support / implement the more complex system configuration requirements. Assist in the planning and implementation of a Data Warehouse. Test quality of own development work, prior to passing over to QA and UAT. Develop and maintain best practice policies, procedures, standards and system level documentation. Escalate any concerns e.g. around underlying data quality with the IT Management Team and Business System Owners.
