Mechanical Design Engineer Frome, Somerset Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week £25,000 to £30,000 per annum 21 Days Holiday Bank Holidays Mechanical Design Engineer required for a well established manufacturer. This is a great opportunity for a junior designer to become a Design Engineer and see the design process through to manufacture and installation and gain experience in a growing industry. The successful candidate will be qualified in mechanical engineering or have previous experience of working in a mechanical design role. You will have experience of working with Autodesk Inventor and have designed with a variety of steel and metal materials. Your role will be to design a variety of pipework layouts, plant, access layouts and conveyors that will be used in the quarrying and aggregate industries. You will see the process through from conception to manufacture and work alongside the project managers to be part help to create BOMs and liaise with suppliers. There will be a mixture of concept and remodification design work. The company are well established in their industry and have recently merged with to form a larger business offering R & D, design, manufacture, sales and installation. You will join a team of 6 designers and work on a large range of bespoke projects. The Role: Mechanical Design using Autodesk Inventor. Designing Plant Drawings, civils layouts, flow diagrams, pipework layouts, stairs and access layouts. Creating manufacturing drawings and BOMs Liaising with clients and suppliers. The Mechanical Design Engineer: Degree in mechanical or similar engineering discipline. Experience of designing with steel and other materials. Experience using Autodesk Inventor.
