Overview

- Have a passion for animals and looking for immediate paid work? - Want to gain experience working with animals? - Or even better, do you already have experience working with animals? - Do you live in or around Yorkshire, Cambridge or Suffolk and or maybe you are willing to stay away from home? (We are happy to talk to anyone in the UK) - Or maybe you might know of someone who wants paid work, working with animals? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these… we need you Now more than ever, the life science research industry needs your skills to provide essential animal husbandry. Our clients animal facilities are working around the clock, not only on their existing research projects but also on essential Covid-19 projects too. We are working with a client on an urgent research project at three locations, one based in Cambridge, one based in Eye / Suffolk the other just outside of York. Both locations require extra animal technicians to join them and begin working any day this coming week (week commencing 23 March) or the following week (week commencing 30 March). This initially would be a two week contract with a very high chance of extending for further weeks after this, should you wish. I appreciate that you may have other commitments, so even if you can only commit to two weeks paid work, it would really help. We expect our client will offer extensions beyond the two weeks, on a rolling fortnightly basis. You may live a commutable distance away from either Cambridge, Suffolk or York, or you may require accommodation and travel expenses to stay away from home for this short period of time. S3 will potentially arrange accommodation and a daily food allowance paid for by our client for those staying away from home if they have experience. Hourly pay rates have yet to be confirmed, but will most likely start at £8.00 for non-experienced animal technicians, rising to £12 for experienced Animal Technicians holding a current home office license. There will also be a loyalty bonus should you be able to work for our client over a longer period. All benefits and pay rates will of course be confirmed with you before commencing work. If you are able to assist our client in their time of need could you please answer the following questions: - Would you require accommodation to work at either the Cambridge, Eye or York sites? - Do you drive? - Do you have access to a vehicle? - Do you have any pets? (if so please state which animal) - Do you class yourself as someone who has health conditions which are seen as ‘at risk of COVID-19? Whatever your circumstances, please could you let us know of your availability ASAP to work at either of these sites or for other clients urgent research projects. I want to reassure you that all of S3’s client facilities follow health and safety guidelines in excess of government requirements. You and your fellow animal technicians will be provided with comprehensive PPE at all times, along with rota’s and distancing measures to ensure your safety. The labs are ‘germ free’ so this is the safest option. As always the priority is to both our workforce, and to providing the very best in animal welfare standards. Should you have any questions regarding these urgent vacancies or indeed any other matter please do not hesitate to contact me via email, our one of my colleagues at either of our offices using the details provided below.
