Overview
Job title: Software Engineer Salary: up to £50,000 per annum Location: Yeovil Acorn is working in a recruitment partnership with a highly regarded client, a leader in aerospace and defence and one of the largest organisations in this sector globally. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer for an initial 12 month fixed term contract with a clear view of being made permanent at the end of the engagement, that specialises within C to assist with the clients embedded aerospace applications over all life-cycle phases including requirements capture, specification, design, implementation, support, amongst many other development duties. Key Responsibilities; - Overall execution of the 'Software Development Process' or 'Software Verification Process' per the plan and applicable processes and standards. - Quality, process and productivity improvements are crucial, to support these you may be required to: - Investigate the causes of any software defects, report findings and recommendations to management/process groups and if necessary support process changes. - Participate in global process improvement and standardization initiatives - Acceptance of system requirements allocated to software, Development of software requirements, Selection or development of software architecture, Development of software design, Software implementation and integration and establishing and maintaining trace ability between the work-products Knowledge & Skills; - A thorough understanding of the 'C' programming language is essential. - The ability to read circuit diagrams or schematics and to use electronics development and test tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers etc.) would be beneficial. - Experience of using the following software tools would be beneficial: DOORS System Architect and/or Rhapsody If this opportunity is something that you would like to find out more about please apply or contact Dan Newton, based in Acorn's Head Office.
