Communications Web Officer

We are urgently seeking an experienced Communications Web Officer to maintain the website and intranet making sure user experience and accessibility are at the heart of everything for one of our local government clients based in Reigate. They will maintain a high-quality web service, with accurate, up to date content and search to provide a good user experience. Apply writing for the web best practice when producing original web and intranet content and when editing and approving the content of others. The Communications Web Officer will champion the new website accessibility guidelines to ensure everyone can access services and information online.They will deliver training courses on the Content Management System to content owners, ensure materials are updated to reflect any changes and provide support to CMS users on an on-going basis. Also, regularly report on the performance of the website and user data and use online feedback and analytics to highlight issues and drive constant improvement to the customer journey. The will play a leading role in the strategic planning of continued development of the website and intranet, in terms of content and functionality, responding to user feedback and research. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following: An experienced web officer with the ability to maintain a high-quality web service across multiple systems, with accurate, up to date content and search Preferably a degree or relevant technical qualification, or relevant web management experience Have a flair for creating clear, concise content that responds to user needs Passionate about analytics and using data to improve the online customer experience An excellent communicator - able to train colleagues and champion best practice in writing for the web and accessibility Experience of overseeing a Content Management System – managing users and permissions, as well as liaising with external contractors.
