Must be strategic and be able to define, roadmap and execute on testing strategies An achiever; Innovative and imaginative, professionally assertive, flexible and versatile A team player whom can operate with multiple diverse stakeholders driving a direction Confident, engaging and responsive Analytical, inquisitive, persistent Technical Attributes Testing Certification i.e. ISEB Experience of test management tools for example, Mercury TD or QC Strong knowledge of Test Process Methodologies Requirements analysis An expert in understanding testing layers and modes Managing and prioritizing defect remediation Role Overview Responsible for all elements of end to end testing on Major Projects and Programmes across the business. Coordinates and works in unison with internal technology partners, business stakeholders and external partners to deliver a test function that includes functional and non-functional test elements, across component, modular, systems integration and UAT test phases. Take ownership of the definition, design and implementation of end to end testing on major projects to ensure systems, tools and applications meet organizational standards and requirements. and provide strategic expertise combined with hands on capability and mindset. Essential Functions 1. Defines and implements overall Test Strategy and Test approach for multiple, complex projects implementations. Ensures that the project test approach follows recognized testing standards and methodologies. Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate to improve testing performance and efficiency. Performs root cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify corrective action and process improvements. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of test tools, documents, and test case review/results meetings. Streamlines documentation to ensure meaningful from a user/client perspective. Ensures test tools are up to date and available for testing. Implements and refines structures and standards for automated testing programs to support functional, technical and regression and user acceptance testing. 2. Works closely with key stakeholders to coordinate delivery and implementation schedules. Collaborates with other teams to ensure high quality smooth deployment releases for the platform, ensuring that the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process is followed. Provides progress and status reports for project work and reports to management on issues that affect quality and schedule of releases. Provides input and issue resolution options to help overcome roadblocks to delivery schedule. 3. Determines and schedules the allocation of test teams based on the Project Implementation priority through close collaboration with Project Management and the client. Manages and executes multiple continuous improvement and problem-solving projects simultaneously from conception through successful implementation, both independently and by leading or collaborating with cross-functional teams. Manages the performance of client acceptance testing environments for multiple complex solutions. Ensures that solutions are fully functional with the latest development enhancements and operate at peak efficiency. Serves as point of expertise and escalation. Ensures transparency of work by publishing metric reports and dashboard views to the business, showing the status of the team’s assigned tasks, impediments, and any estimated risks for completion. 4. Participates in client meetings with the purpose of agreeing test structures, providing milestone updates and reviewing test results as well as agreeing ongoing actions to track and address defects and/or perform additional cycles. Conducts internal client communication with the purpose to build relationships, gain consensus and/or negotiate issues that may arise. Guides understanding of customer requirements and impact for area (e.g. impact to system changes and/or issues to the company and Client). Be part of a team that enthuses advocacy and educates the company on the capabilities of any new platforms or applications. 5. Provides input for identifying potential development of new products, features and services to increase revenue, productivity, product strength, or reduce risk. Collaborates with leaders across team to identify opportunities for process and platform improvements as well as resolve issues/roadblocks. Represents the function in various focus groups to meet company objectives. 6. Directs team members performing skilled tasks across multiple applications. Maintains, administers, interprets and communicates procedures, methodology and/or application standards to team members according to how they are applied in testing activities. Mentors and develops the skills of the team resources which includes awareness of the basic process and methodologies. Coaches, mentors, and develops team members in testing principles as part of the collaborative process between the technical teams and the client acceptance and validation teams.
