Overview

Smart Solutions Recruitment are currently recruiting for a national client within the Slough area. They are currently seeking several CLASS 2 HGV Drivers for an immediate start. We are looking for a target driven self-starters who have a passion for the driving industry. The rates of pay are very competitive and begin at £13.53 per hour. Overtime is available depending on the shift. Our client has indicated that the roles are long term, ongoing with the opportunity to become permanent positions for the stand out candidates. Full training is provided and all applicants must complete a full induction and driver assessment prior to commencement of these roles. To drive where required and to load where required a waste collection vehicle as part of a team working collaboratively under Group Task and Finish. The core responsibilities of this role are: Collect waste from requested locations Dispose of waste at the nominated waste disposal sites Carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete appropriate paperwork Ensure compliance with the DSO vehicle policy and all legislative requirements Operate the compaction controls of the vehicle when required Work as a member of a team within a group of teams Receive instructions from Supervisors and communicate them to other crew members Ensure the satisfactory completion of work in accordance with instructions Operate the 'in cab device' where fitted Ensure paperwork is completed fully and pass to relevant Supervisor Maintain the best operational relationship between the public, other customers and client representatives by dealing courteously with complaints and enquiries Ensure that where premises, gates, barriers etc are unlocked to gain access that they are relocked, paying particular attention to the safeguarding of keys Clear rubbish irresponsibly dumped (i.e. fly tipped) Give advice, guidance and assistance to new or inexperienced staff Follow method statements, risk assessments and route and round risk assessments Be compliant with Health and Safety at work requirements Carry out and assist with loading responsibilities as required Carry out any reasonable task or undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be required At all times carrying out responsibilities/duties with regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy Skills and experience include: Experience of working within a driving role Public handling skills A self-starter with a positive, resilient and tenacious attitude Competent communication skills Full CPC required Digi Tacho required No more than 6 points on driving licence for minor offences Full licences required These roles cover numerous sites within the Slough area, if you feel like you are an ideal candidate for the above please do not hesitate in getting in touch on the below contact information or apply online.
