Overview

Do you have an eye for detail, care about delivering a defect free scheme and working on fast paced projects? If so we have a role which is right up your street. Location: Brighton, East Sussex. Contract type: Freelance. Start date: May 2020 Duration: 8 months. Pay rate: up to £25 per hour (dependant upon experience). Randstad CPE contact: David Baker (Brighton branch). The company: One of UK's leading refurbishment contractors that specialise in commercial office spaces, workplace design & delivery, retail, high-end residential and commercial. Winning contracts across the South East and 2019's turnover secured there is now a need to recruit some new team members in the Sussex region. The project: A cut & carve refurbishment scheme which will involve major temporary works, structural alterations and two storey steel frame extension with associated fit out works. The final product will deliver eye catching office space and conference centre in the heart of Brighton. The role: As a Section Manager this prestigious contractor you will be tasked with managing and coordinating internal works packages which will include joinery, partitioning, MEP and decorations. Your role will include but not be limited to: Interrogating the design along with the programme and provide advice. Attend pre-start meetings with subcontractors and the on-going progress meetings throughout the project. Order through the supply chain and non-supply & fit plant and materials. Coordinate subcontractors daily activities. Control the quality ensuring it meets client specification, issue NCRS and ensure corrective measures are taken in a timely manner. Promote and implement the company's polices and procedures in relation to safety, wellbeing and quality. Liaison with Architects, Engineer, Consultants and client's agents. Providing progress updates to the Project Manager and Project Director. Quality Assurance. About you: Qualifications: SMSTS CSCS Management Card (Gold or above) First Aid Asbestos Awareness HNC in Construction Scaffold Inspection/Awareness (desirable) Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable) CPCS Appointed Person (desirable) Experience: Circa two years in a management position. Worked on projects in excess of £10 million. Previously been part of a team on cut & carve schemes. Basic setting out. Skill set: Working knowledge of programming software such as MS Project or Asta Power Projects. Good level of IT literacy with Microsoft Office suite. Excellent interpersonal skills written and verbal. Ability to lead and encourage others to maintain standards. Writing detailed reports.
