Missile Mission Planning System Design Lead
Overview
The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen to lead a highly driven and committed team of engineers to develop and deliver a Mission Planning system, a key sub-system of the Storm Shadow weapon system. What are we looking for? The successful candidate will have significant experience in a systems engineering role, ideally having previously covered a full product lifecycle and holding a relevant engineering-related degree (or higher). They will be able to communicate and manage multiple stakeholders across international boundaries, maintaining constructive relationships. The candidate will be able to competently develop and manage a group of engineers on a day to day basis and ensure suitable planning is undertaken to maintain project progress and deliver on time and on cost. Experience using DOORS, and use of configuration control/management software is essential. Experience of SysML (and specifically Rhapsody) is advantageous. The candidate is expected to gain a broad understanding of Mission Planning systems and to engage effectively with Software, Human Factors, MoD and Industry stakeholders at various levels. The Role This is a fantastic opportunity to support and guide a team of engineers through the development and delivery phases of a Mission Planning product to a key MBDA customer. The work package you will front forms a sub-system within a wider project, and you will be responsible for interfacing between the Head of the Mission Planning Sub-System and the engineering teams. Key areas of the role include: Day to day management of a team of System engineers to develop and deliver a complex Mission Planning product Ensure software and hardware products are delivered on-time and to cost and quality requirements Work package scheduling, progress monitoring and cost management Stakeholder management across MBDA UK and MBDA France, including software development teams and missile system team Work with the End Users and Customers to ensure the product is as required, within the contract bounds Ensuring successful completion of key development milestones in line with company process What’s great about the team?
