£380 - £400 VAT per day (depending on experience) 6-month contract Reading, Berkshire UK Your new company We are an established multinational services company and one of Europe's most valued companies with our products and services available in over 10 countries. We are a rapidly evolving company with an ever-growing need for system development and technical delivery. Right now we are seeking an Interim DevOps Engineer with strong exposure to an 'infrastructure as code' environment where operations are treated like software challenges and cloud deployment is second nature. Your new role You will take full responsibility to support one of our key customers to improve their infrastructure scalability, latency and help further automate their enterprise-level cloud environment. You will deliver new features, products and services, deploying products into the cloud and leveraging modern Configuration Management (CM) technologies. You will ensure best practice is adhered to by other key support teams and take ownership of the security, reliability and stability of cloud deployments. What you'll need to succeed Excellent knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), with at least one CM technology (such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible) and strong Linux administration skills (CentOS or RHL are preferable) will lead to your success. A sound networking and security background will be essential with a good understanding of the TCP/IP stack and a good familiarity with version control systems like Subversion/Git. Any knowledge of DNS, RPZ or BGP would be considered a huge plus for any potential candidate. Alongside this you will get a generous 6-months contract which could possibly be extended well beyond this time frame, with a day rate of up to £400.
