Overview

We are looking for an IT Technician to join a team based in Staveley. Responsible for the management and maintenance of all IT equipment in line with company procedures and standards. Contribute and assist with the running of Business Systems in use throughout the company. Working with global teams and providing support through customer obsession for local and remote users. Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm 37.5 Hours Salary: Dependent on experience Essential Functions IT Server & Network Support Detect, diagnose and resolve PC, printer and peripheral device faults. Provide advice, guidance and assistance to users on use of IT equipment and systems. Install and maintain Windows server infrastructure. Configuration & Installation Install new software and hardware. Set up equipment such as laptops, desktops and servers and other specialist IT equipment Assist in creating a structured approach to rolling out new hardware or software, including procurement, testing and assessing the needs of user training. Ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly. Deliver hardware and resources to work areas as required. Support the implementation of IT solutions as required. Maintenance Develop a maintenance schedule for all computer hardware, software and networks, and ensure that it is followed. Maintenance of the internal company Intranet. Maintain user and email accounts and implement where appropriate. Assist in planning and implementing changes to elements of the IT service as required. Ensure the safe disposal of obsolete equipment in line with recognised company procedures and legal requirements. Perform checks to ensure that network resources are maintained. Administration Log and manage issues and requests effectively using company ticketing systems. Work to and give guidance to others on the IT acceptable use policy. Produce material and procedures for users to assist in the use of IT Systems. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT software and licences. Be responsible for an efficient stock control system and associated records. Order equipment and supplies to secure best value for goods and services. Receive and check deliveries and associated invoices, notify the appropriate person of discrepancies. Support the full range of financial planning for IT, including purchase of larger items and help to estimate future budget requirements. Provide management information as required. Standard Duties To be familiar data protection and health and safety policies. To improve ones own practice through training observation, discussion with colleagues and performance management. To keep abreast of current hardware and software developments and provide advice on the best product for a given task. To attend and participate in meetings as required. To work flexibly and undertake other duties of an equivalent nature that may be required by the head of the department from time to time. Excellent problem solving skills. Travel to company sites located in country and international as and when required.
