AM Recruitment are working with a food manufacturing company who are recruiting for a Lead Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team. As well as maintaining factory machinery there is a heavy emphasis on Health and Safety in this role. Take an active role in supporting the production teams in terms of any breakdowns, regular maintenance of machines and equipment. Including resolving mechanical and electrical issues. Provide continuous feedback to the Directors, promoting a high performance culture where engineers seek to add value while maintaining high standards. Develop, implement and maintain the sites engineering/maintenance strategy. Manage all aspects of operational maintenance and engineering in order to meet agreed business objectives, health and safety in accordance with the business, company procedures and legislative requirements. Coordinate the Maintenance teams shift schedule, activities, and resources to ensure factory objectives, targets, company procedures and legislative requirements are achieved. Identify areas of operational and financial improvements and facilitate/enable their introduction and development. Carry out tasks requested in any factory departments by a member of the management team to ensure optimum production can be maintained by each department. Implement health and safety strategy, including reviewing and developing internal policies, procedures, controls, risk assessments and safe working systems. Understand the application of Health and Safety at work Act 1974 and other relevant and new legislation. Carry out site inspections and risk assessments that are required by legislation at relevant intervals while also maintaining records of said assessments. Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and advice on the standard P.P.E issued to employees. Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis techniques and keep the relevant records of these. Organise and deliver Health and Safety training, liaising with external training providers where required.
